Gentle Pro Series lasers are gold standard devices for laser hair removal. Offering high speed performance, ease of use, and high patient satisfaction, the Gentle Pro Series leverages both Alexandrite (755 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) wavelength technologies to efficiently treat a wide range of skin types and hair colors.

Alexandrite laser vs Nd:YAG laser

Here's how the Gentle Pro Series works on the skin:

The principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis. The laser emits a controlled beam of light that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicles, converting the light energy into heat.

Gentle Pro devices offer either single or dual laser wavelengths, with Alexandrite laser (755 nm) and Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) options. These wavelengths target melanin, the pigment responsible for hair color in the hair follicles.

Gentle laser mechanism of action

The Nd:YAG laser has a longer wavelength, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the skin and target melanin in hair follicles. This makes it suitable for darker skin types and coarser hair.

The absorbed heat damages the hair follicles responsible for hair growth without affecting the surrounding skin. This process impedes the follicles' ability to produce new hair.

To enhance patient comfort and protect the skin, the Gentle Pro Series incorporates cooling technology. The proprietary Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD), sprays a cooling burst of cryogen onto the skin with each laser pulse.

The Alexandrite laser wavelength is ideal for lighter skin tones, as it has high melanin absorption. It is well-suited for treating finer hair on areas like the face and underarms.

Depending on the density of hair, color of the hair and hormonal factors, the number of treatments required varies from 6-10, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for the face and 6-8 weeks apart for the torso, and 8-9 weeks apart for the legs.

With each treatment there is cumulative damage to the hair follicle and this results in a progressive reduction in the number and diameter of the hairs. There are also different stages of hair growth and hairs in the active growth phase are more responsive to the laser. Both of these facts explain why multiple treatment sessions are required
